The Battle For Truth

This week, I didn't post nearly as much as I have been. That is because I was spending most of my time at a youth conference. The conference consisted of worship, great messages, and epic games.

Day One -

Day Two -

 It was Chief Jefe's birthday.

I got HURT in this game.

The Days I've Missed

Like I've said before, I'm lazy and my life isn't always very exciting. I'm not quite sure what to say about the days I've missed. I'll just post some cool photos instead.

I think the Chinchilla was a nice touch.

Day Fourteen -

This is Caroline. She really likes cake. Today, I went to the beach with my family to visit my moms side of the family. We used this time together to celebrate all of the July birthdays in our family. Hence the cake. We also walked to my sisters boyfriends beach house to see Jonathan's mom. She was on the balcony trying to act cool as Tim McGraw and Faith Hill sat on the balcony beside hers. This is my second celebrity sighting this summer :) We didn't get any pictures though. I really didn't want to be that guy. Mrs. Pam tried to sneak some though. Well, It's not even that late and I'm dog tired. Got work in the mornin' :)

This is Jonathan's impression of how his mom felt on the inside while talking to Faith Hill; while on the outside being calm and collected.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 63: 1
"Who is this who comes from Edom,
      from the city of Bozrah,
      with his clothing stained red?
Who is this in royal robes,
      marching in his great strength?

'It is I, the Lord, announcing your salvation!
It is I, the Lord, who has the power to save!'"

Day Thirteen -

This is Manicotti. I spent most of my day making this for the youth worship team dinner. It was a success, and I haves leftovers.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 62: 10-11
"Go out through the gates!
Prepare the highway for my people to return!
   Smooth out the road; pull out the boulders;
raise a flag for all the nations to see.
The Lord has sent this message to every land:
      “Tell the people of Israel,
   ‘Look, your Savior is coming.
See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.'"

July 10, 11, and 12, 2011

First off I would like to apologize for my laziness.
My days haven't been quite as exciting and easy to post about as when I was in Tennessee.
I can't remember what I did the past two days in full so I'll just share about today.

Day Twelve -

This is Kaitlin. She had me over for dinner (she cooks well) and video games. As you can see from this photo, video games make us happy... and frustrated. We also had a good time making and eating Smores.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 61: 10-11
"I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God!
For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation
and draped me in a robe of righteousness.
I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit
or a bride with her jewels.
The Sovereign Lord will show his justice to the nations of the world.
      Everyone will praise him!
His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring,
      with plants springing up everywhere."

Day Nine -

This is Cynthia (with the camera). Today was her birthday. She turned eighteen. She can get tattoos now. I really enjoy her and her loving, kind leadership. Happy Birthday, Cynthie.

P.S. - This photo was not taken today.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 61:3
"To all who mourn in Israel,
he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
      festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for his own glory."

Day Eight -

This is Sun Studios. That's right - the place where Elvis got his start. Very sadly, it is no longer a record label. This is the one and only thing I did today aside from sit in a car.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 60:22
"The smallest family will become a thousand people,
and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation.
At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

Day Six -

This is John Paul White and Joy Williams. I saw them live in Memphis. If you have never seen them live I suggest you do. They are so much better live. I got to meet Joy Williams and speak with her for a short moment. I wanted to talk to John Paul but he seemed preoccupied with not starting a riot. I made them both some stinking awesome bandannas. They are too cool. :)

Day Seven -

This is my dad. He was being funny in this photo. I won't tell you why. Any-who, we rode that trolley today. It was pretty fun. We also went to Elvis's home and grave. It was kind of sad. I really like his music.

Day Five -

This is.... a goat. Today I went to the Nashville Zoo. This little guy was just running around being all cute. I also got to see a red panda today. It was precious. I want a pet meerkat, by the way.

Tomorrow, I'm headed to Memphis. I am going to see a little band called The Civil Wars. I couldn't be more excited.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 59: 17
"He put on righteousness as his body armor
and placed the helmet of salvation on his head.
He clothed himself with a robe of vengeance
and wrapped himself in a cloak of divine passion."

Day Four -

This is Nashville. Tonight was a long night filled with fireworks beyond your wildest dreams. Today I went to the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame. It was really cool and I learned a lot. I also went to the Loveless Cafe because I heard that Taylor Swift likes to eat there. The food was AMAZING. A lot of other stars have eaten there before like Miley Cyrus, Lady Antebellum, Paula Dean, etc.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 59:1
"Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you,
nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call."

or Day Three -

This is The Civil Wars. I took this photo tonight in a record store downtown in Nashville. I was excited to see them on vinyl. I was also excited because I am seeing them live on Wednesday.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 58: 11
"The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
      and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
      like an ever-flowing spring."

or Day Two -

This is Karly; my partner in crime. Humble is her middle name. We got to hang out pretty much all day. When we talk, revelations are stirred up in my heart. She causes me to think deeper. She is a part of my life for a reason. I'm going to miss her while I'm gone.

Verse[s] of the Day:
ISAIAH 57: 13c                                                                                                                              "But whoever trusts in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain."

I really like mountains; especially holy ones.

July 1, 2011

Aka: Day One

This is Jack. He is a doggy from the farm that I now work on. I played with him a lot today.
I also worked a good bit today - taking care of horses, construction, etc.

Today my friend texted me and said something along the lines of, "I guess you can officially say that you are 'Sixteen In July.'" It was the best thing I heard all day. If you didn't know, there is an Avett Brothers song called "Sixteen In July." Also, if you didn't know, they are my favorite band ever.

Verse[s] of the Day:ISAIAH 55: 11-12"It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
You will live in joy and peace.
The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!"

That last line is really significant to me. I often find myself watching nature sway and thinking on how it is praising my God.
